The 2025 SciREN Coast Networking Event was a huge success!
We’d like to thank everyone who participated in our 12th Annual Networking Event at Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium this past February. We loved sharing our passion for scientific education and outreach with the 26 booths, 45 scientists, and 52 educators at this year’s event!
But wait: the networking doesn’t end there! We encourage all scientists in attendance to follow up with emails to interested educators. This event was just the first step in fostering collaborations between local researchers and educators–let’s put these awesome outreach offerings, lesson plans, and classroom activities into action!
See you all at next year’s event!
About the SciREN Coast Events
What?
The SciREN Coast networking event is an evening of relaxed conversations between educators and researchers. It is a FREE event. At SciREN events, researchers provide educators with K-12 classroom ready lesson plans which are based on their current work and adhere to state and national educational standards. Researchers and scientists may also offer the opportunity to coordinate classroom visits. These events are held at informal science education institutions, such as a museum or an aquarium. Additionally, SciREN gives researchers and educators opportunities to arrange classroom visits and to collaborate on curriculum development.
